My Bottle 'God' sambar !

Today I wanted to cook bottle gourd sambar which was my mom's recipe ! Went to an Indian market ,

Saw a big green fresh bottle gourd which was perfect for my sambar .

But a shinny Indian scarf drew my attention . Since I had little money left  that day , I got compromised on the bottle gourd and bought the scarf ! I substituted my mom's  Bottle gourd sambar recipe with cucumber insted  !!! 

This whole episode made me to relate like this ....

The farmer who have put the seed , did the  hardwork, spend time to grow this vegetable and calls it as bottle gourd ...resembled for me the very first person , who discovered that there should be some superpower in this universe who is driving the entire matter to exist and he named that superpower  as 'God' !

Then I compared the super market owner who got this bottle gourd from the farmer and preserved it ,cared for it, in a suitable environment ...to the messengers  of god , who not only trusted and believed in god but also tried to pass this precious treasure unaltered  to the next generations !

Then came my mom who bought the bottle gourd and since she knew her kids are fussy and messy to eat the bottle gourd if she cooks as a whole , she cut it into 3 pieces and made curry , sambar and pickle  just for us to get all the goodness of the bottle gourd ...resembled for me the person who might have figured out the incapability of coming generations who won't be able to carry the true strength of god as a whole ,so he might have created a human form to the God , made an idol, idolised him,personified him and personalised him ,!

And then it's  me in my childhood who not only chose to just eat the bottle gourd sambar , but also deliberately announced that other dishes as bad and very bad , unable to realise even the other dishes have same vegetable , but in a different form...reminds me of the people who fight and debate that ' only their own god is great '!

Then comes the adult but dumb me again , who sometimes spoil my mom's sambar recipe ,some times over cook the bottle gourd , and sometimes even dare to substitute the bottle gourd with cucumber  and yet call it 'bottle gourd sambar' and serve the family ....reminds me of many of us  who talks about god ,discuss about god ,give crowns and thrones to god ,pray to god in misery and also finally forget god easily for pleasure and money !
